Digg WordPress Theme
Download Digg

This is a little two-column, widget-ready, Digg-like WordPress theme that I’ve been working on. I took an extra day to re-test, re-validate, and to help you use this theme (as far as possible) without having to tweak it for your own blog, which contradicts my other goal, to allow you to customize it as far as you like. For example, you can change the header background image to show a screenshot capture of Digg Swarm. Open the style.css file, look for #header, and change bg_header.gif to bg_header_alt.gif. Check the readme.txt file for more customization tips.

HTML Tags Support:
Although not all of the following HTML tags were included in style.css, you should have no problem with:
- abbr, acronym, address
- b, big, blockquote
- cite, code
- del, dd, dl, dt
- em, hr, i, s, small, u

- Digg.com for the layout of the content, design, and color schemes.

Great theme! I’ve now adapted it for my site with a few modifications here and there. Most of the changes I made were in the eye candy dept. like changing the title in the header to a .jpg, bullets imgs for the permalinks, etc. You are really cranking out some nice work here.
Keep ‘em comin’!

Hi, This theme looks great. I love it.
Wanted to ask if this is a widget ready theme ?!
Is there a way to swap the right sidebar to the left?

Great theme, SP!
In browse.php, how would I left align the “previous_post_link” and right align the “next_post_link” so that the two links don’t run together?
Hi All,
i am very satisfied with this theme digg 3 for my wp blog so wanted to extend the same
to my external site(my own domain) hosted by blue host. but i CANT seem to get my additional pages on top of the header adjecent to HOME and ABOUT page..which i was able to do so in my blog http://www.mysaphr.wordpress.com
on my own domain i installed theme digg 3 ..please advice if it is a limitation that i cant get my pages above header on sites hosted else where?
thanks in advance.
Please read the readme.txt file included with the download for instructions on how to add more tabs to the menu.
Thanks for the quick reply SP, another doubt is just like in wp blog here(ext site) too the search function doesnt pick page contents? picks only catorgories and posts?
so if my content have to be picked up by google.no point creating pages..i shld be creating only posts?
or resort to other means of spidering it like posts update once in a while with all links. pls advice i am new to this.
Google crawls both Pages and Posts. For other theme questions, please use the Wpdesigner support forums. For general WordPress help, you should check out the WordPress.org support forums. Thanks hruser.
Hi Small Potato,
I’ve just implemented you digg 2-column into my wordpress site. First, thanks for the great theme.
I have a technical question:
I’m trying to widen the posts, and necessarily I must “push” my sidebar to the right (which I wish to do anyway). I have been told the -#content width: % – would take care of this, but I don’t see it in the stylesheet.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Unfortunately, there is no width %. It’s a fixed-width theme.
Oh drat.
I would do something like that. Thanks for getting back with me!
cheers
Like HRUser, I was using this theme on my wordpress.com hosted site, but when I went to move the site to my own host location, I was unable to get the tabs at the top to reflect the pages. I read the readme.txt and I know that I can hardcode them, but the version of the Digg 3 template on wordpress.com automatically creates tabs based on Pages. What is the PHP code to allow that? Do they have a specially modified version of the Digg 3 Column template to automatically create / remove tabs based on the Pages?
Yes, the wordpress.com version is custom. The self-hosted version is limited to a hard coded navigation because the space for the navigation is limited to only 7-10 tabs. Some blogs do have more than 10 links, which would cause some tabs to appear under others.
Look into wp_list_pages() on WordPress.org
I am using your Digg 3 column theme. I like the way things flow on it. The only question I have is about the “Recent Post” widget. Why is its formatting not the same as the rest? How can I fix it?
Thanks, and keep up the great designs.
Chris

love the brown theme on your site, not to many sites use brown, i think you used it very nicely, good job

Love the theme. Thanks!
One question about viewing posts when clicking a category. It seems that a reader should be able to click the [...] at the end of the snippet to view the entire post. Is there a way I can make that happen? Is it supposed to do that, but it’s just not working?
Thanks for any help you can give,
Dennis
