WOW! That’s an excellent theme! Looks like it’d be great for a zine or a business website, as well as a blog. It displays so much information, but I don’t think any of the sidebars take the focus off of the main content. Plus, it’s widget ready! Great work; I think this could be your best yet.

@ small patato : it’s a piece of chance because my change’s theme is very freshy (friday). First, I have find nice your theme but I haven’t change mine. But my old theme was charging pages too slowly and I give a chance to yours. I’m happy.
What’s your meaning after your visit ?
Very nice theme! But I have a small problem with it: works fine with IE7, Mozilla and Opera but not with IE6. In IE6, the right sidebar goes at the bottom of the posts… Does the same with your live demo link above: http://www.wpdesigner.com/index.php?preview_theme=Quadruple Blue
Do you have an idea how to fix this?
sfortier - It’s a per blog problem. When you preview this theme, you’re viewing the content on my blog. One of my posts has a big image that’s pushing the main column over it’s max width, which causes the right sidebar to move down to the bottom. Firefox maintains the original structure, but IE6 pushes it down.
If you install this theme for a fresh blog, you will not have the same problem.
Can you explain why search etc is centring on the page please instead of aligning correctly?

It is released under creative com. i think - is it permitted to use the images used in this theme outside the wordpress blogging software ?!? I am designing a page for a non-profit org and these images could be very handy to use ! TIA.

I’m so impressed with this theme. I can’t believe it uses four columns and still doesn’t look cluttered! This theme pulls that off, and most 3-column themes can’t.
I would use it if those 2 right sidebars were pulled into one thicker sidebar, maybe 1.5x the size of one of the current ones. I would love it if that change could be made. Any way that’s possible?
is it widget ready also ? seems interesting for a blog I’m going to deploy!

I Like the theme a lot. Really, but i would like to have the theme over the whole screen or with a width of 90% how can i get it?
Unless you know how to convert it to fluid width, you can’t. It’s fixed width and depends on a quite a few graphic files.
To convert it to 90% width takes quite a few hours.
Great theme. I only hacked a few small things and I was ready to go for my blog http://www.globalwarming-factorfiction.com. I had a quick question on how to make one of the changes, asked in an email, and had the answer in less than a day.
I highly recommend this and all of the themes from WPDesigner.

Most of the times, it means the photos within your posts are too big.

I gather you have probably seen this use of your theme and wondered if you happen to know how to make the main column split into two as it does on that site? I am trying to emulate both the CSS and the html which involves playing with the categories etc.
Any ideas at all as to how?

I takes a lot of modifications to make it split. If you’re up for it:
- Create two small columns to fit in the main area. Or, shorten the narrowcolumn and add another column just like it.
- Edit the background graphics to short it to half sizes.
- Check to see if you have to edit the .post and .post_alt classes
- Get rid of the loop calling for the posts.
- Replace it with query_posts to call specific categories only.
- Set it to the_excerpt instead of the_conten() within the query_post
- Call for the category title above each category area.
Downsite: You will lose your Next Page and Previous Page links.

I like the theme very much, it fit my site perfectly. I do have a question. If I do not want to display the blog info on the header, it collapses the graphic. How do I prevent this from happening?
Dan Williams - I think what you want to do is similar to my change (I also changed the image in the header). Go to http://www.globalwarming-factorfiction.com and look at the source and you should be able to figure it out. Let me know if this helps. @Dan - In the style.css file, add display: none; to H1.
Small Potato: I added the line to the css file and it eliminated the header. Is there a way for me to keep the graphic at the top and not have the site name up at the top? Just show the BG_Page at the top? Again thank you for the quick response.

I really like this theme. It is great for publishing a lot of content. I have been trying to insert a logo, left aligned, in the header, but have so far been unsuccessful. I wonder whether you could give me a hint on how to go about this.

Small Potato, It’s broken in IE6 because left_articles is not defined.
Also I don’t think telling people to just limit their image size can be considered “fixing” the problem

I’m trying to create a new template file for a page, and would like to remove the rightside bar, how to do that?
@George - Which left_articles are you talking about? That’s not a class in this theme. I test my themes in IE6 and Firefox. It’s not broken. But, it is a fixed layout so big images are a problem.
@Firdaus - Create a new template file. Example: your-template.php that doesn’t include the right sidebar. Upload it. Create a new page. Select that template in the Page Template drop down menu.

I’ve done everything possible to get the header linked up. I just can’t for the life of me figure it out. I’ve been link tags in virtually every place related to the header and non of it links the header to the home page.
What am I doing wrong?

Any way to prevent the right side bar from being pushed down on IE6? 50% of my traffic uses IE6.

Just don’t use big images and photos in any of the columsn, especially the main column. That’s it.
You mean to tell me I have to remove all the images?
Darn! I have way too many posts to just remove images. Even with small images it pushes the right columns right to the bottom.
What you are saying is there is now way to modify this?
Only the posts with photos bigger than the width of the main column. Small images don’t affect the right sidebar.
Ok I figured it out.
If the width is greathan 375 px than it pushes the colums down. As long as you keep the pictures below/or 375 than you are fine.

None. Generally, free WordPress themes are not SEO friendly because they have to follow WordPress’s structure.
You need to custom build one or modify the free one that you’re going to use.

If you’re hosted on WordPress.com, you can’t use this theme.
I use the theme (slightly modified) for one of my blogs. http://www.globalwarming-factorfiction.com. I like the theme a lot but I made a slight modification and now it is having problems in IE but not Firefox.
Under the headings of Pages and Categories, in IE the first couple lines don’t display until the cursor goes over the lines. I assume that is because I changed the display to show the parent/child relationship but it works fine in FF.
Also, I display random past articles in one of the sidebars. Once again, this looks fine in FF but in IE it is all bunched together.
I assume all of these can be fixed with CSS changes but I can’t figure it out. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help!

Hi everybody.
I have just solved the IE6 sidebar problem for my website (www.raffish.it, have a look at it). It was enough for me to add the css attribute “overflow:hidden” to the two folowing classes of the theme: .narrow_column and .right_sidebar_col.
Done (at least for me). I hope this time my help will not be censored like if it were spam.
What does it mean for the theme to be SEO friendly?

Sorry, Small Potato, I guess I wasn’t being clear - I know what SEO is, I just don’t understand what it means in this context - does it mean that the search engines can’t read the posts and comments? or that there are no meta tags in the titles? Sorry, I am totally new to wordpress, and I may drive you crazy with questions!

Hi SP, hope things are going well with you and your projects. I’ve been using quadrupal blue for a little while now and modified it a bit for my needs.I had no idea however that in ie it send the right sidebar to the bottom until recently when someone pointed it out to me. I use firefox. I see you mention the size of the images could be causing the problem. What is the max size images should be then to keep this from happening? Thanks for this great theme, I was going to post it in the best themes post until I came up with this problem and if I can fix it I’ll probably do so.
Try shortening your images to see what the limit is. I think it’s around 375px ? I’m not sure and can’t remember exactly off the top of my head.

Not all themes display page links menu the same way. Some use a horizontal menu; others use vertical.

how does one paste or unzip a theme into wordpress?
To unzip, use WinZip or WinRar (free). Theme installation is in the readme file of this theme onced you’ve unzipped it.

Ever since I used it on my Blog, I’ve never changed to another theme.
I’ve downloaded other themes but l aways end up using Quadruple Blue over and over again.
I’ve modified the theme somewhat …
…but don’t worry, the footer link to wpdesigner.com is still intact.
Will you be updating this theme in the future?
