Topless Pork Mechanic:

This is a really great looking theme, well done indeed!!

I’ve always found it a matter of curiosity that there are relatively few 3 column themes around. Plus, the few that exist don’t look so great (the latter is of course, is a wholly subjective personal opinion)

What provision is there (or, “is there a provision”) within the theme, to quickly adjust the ratio of column widths (or mess with the amount of screen that the 3 columns in total actually occupy?
Examples of what I’m driving at:
1. adjusting individual columns:
user wants the center column to be either n px wide, or instead of 33% of the total theme width, go to 40% (result in this example - presumably - is that the 2 edge columns decrease in width) Perhaps when user has done this and assessed the overall result, he may then wish to move on to example 2

2. Adjusting total theme width:
user wants the entire 3 column setup to be 20% wider than present, BUT maintaining the existing ratio of column widths that have either been adjusted (per example 1) or else have default values, and haven’t been messed with at all.
Regardless of what the answers to either of the above are, this was a splendid effort. Nice job, and once more - well done!!

Topless Pork - I have no idea what you just said. You confused me!

I’m just kiddin’. This theme is fixed width. I really don’t have time to make fluid designs and/or convert my designs into fluid width right now.

You make me so tempted to change my current theme (which by the way is also created by you… )! This is such a pleasant looking theme. Well done!

[…] TechPress is a great-looking 3 column Wordpress theme by WpDesigner.com. It is inspired by a number of tech blog designs, such as TechCrunch and Engadget. The theme is awesome as it looks great, and it is Sidebar Widget Ready as well! […]

I love this layout and really want to use it but wanted to know if there is a way for me to add an image header.

Small Potato:

Where exactly do you want it?

Right above the navigation, at the top where it has the blog name.

Small Potato:

oh ok, then use the img tag to place an image under the syndication area, right above the topmenu DIV

Thanx a lot, now its perfect. Just one more question, my sub pages don’t show up or my archives. Is that something on my end or the template.

Small Potato:

The top menu was set to display one level of pages only. No sub-pages, to prevent breaking the top menu layout.

If the archives are showing, are you using the widget plugin for the sidebar? If yes, drag the archives to one of the sidebar boxes, then click save to activate it.

Thank you for the theme! I love it.
Hope the post about leaving this site is untrue!

On IE, howcome I get only 2 sidebars instead of 3. Tried every resolution, same problem. On Mac OS safari, flock, firefox, etc..works fine just on IE.

Thanks
Eugene

Eugene,

Please post questions at the support forums. For a quick fix, your posts probably contain some big images that expand beyond the main column.

OMG!! This looks GREAT!!!!!!!

Great job!!!

I really like this theme. While planning my site, I was looking for the right 3-column theme, and determined that this was it. With just a few minor changes, it fits exactly what I needed. I appreciate it.

Oops! I mis-typed my web address.

Is it possible to make this template to have fluid width? If can, how?

Extensive, extensive modifications :).

I was successful in increasing the header width to the required levels. However, I am unable to do so for the main blog entry section. Have tried tweaking all the entities in the stylesheet, still unsuccessful..Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Anand

You’ll need to tweak the main column, not the post or entry.

Hi, great theme, i’m using it on blog of my city, but I’ve a problem viewing it with MSIE6, it shows only one column in the sidebar, how I can fix this problem?

With firefox, msie7, opera and safari it’s ok!

resolved editing the stylesheet :-)

Hey Small Potato,

Great themes! Thx

I have downloaded and installed TechPress onto my blog.

I find that the search box, blogroll and the meta sections are repeated twice.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

No clue Liz

Hi,

And thanks for the reply.

I think that I got the problem solved: It was related to a widgets thing. There are three parts to it: top sidebar, left sidebar, right sidebar.

You need to drag and drop the widgets in the proper areas, or else things will be duplicated [it even says it in the instructions! LOL-imagine that]

I believe that my problem has been solved. Thanks again for your reply Small Potato.
