Hey!

I'm the author of the circular menu tutorial that was posted above. I just read your comments and found pretty exciting the idea of making it a plugin or a widget... I'm thinking of a highly customizable script, to be able to adapt it to your needs (select the number of links, urls, hover, active, visited and normal image uploads, etc.).

Not sure if I'll be able to do it, but I'll give it a shot and keep you updated.

It's all possible, especially SEO, by fixes. However, is the wordpress team going to fix the SEO problem permanently? I want to know because I don't want to fix the sidebar SEO stuff only to go back later to remove the fixes due to new versions of WordPress that come with SEO by default.

Second, I wouldn't even know where to start with the circular menu. I'm just curious about it. It would be nice to have it as a menu or plugin option.

It would be unbelievable if the WordPress team could tack this on for the future.

but all of the things in your wishlist are achievable right now by a wordpress theme. isnt it ? so what do you expect from the wordpress team to provide ?

And here’s the example:

To make it less complicated, why not just make a simple image map? Though, that would be cool to implement.

When the guys over at WP asked this same question before they released 2.0, I posted the following. I'm still waiting to find something like this too :)

"One of my sites is where I post links to free stuff you can find on the internet. I would kill for a way, feature, plugin, etc that will allow me to post not just one country flag with an individual post, but multiple country flags if the situation calls for it.

Some freebies are limited to only one country, such as US only or UK only, etc. But some freebies are US AND Canadian or Australian AND NZ only. So naturally on some posts I'd just want an American flag but on other posts I'd want an American flag plus others.

I guess what I'm wanting is the ability to add check-able custom options on the Write Post page, where I could have a list of countries and check the ones whose flags I'd want to appear. And it wouldn't have to be just flags, it could be whatever images or quotes or whatever you wanted to be on the checklist."

The only way I've been able to do this so far is to use the Custom Field's option, which is a bit time consuming and hard to implement with some themes.
