The home page is optional. If you want to use it, just rename _home.php to home.php. You’ll also need to edit it to put in the names of the categories to display. See the comment in the file.

Thanks to Robert for the heads up on this theme. I’m glad I took the time to check it out. Despite this theme’s style and appearance, it’s one of those themes that the more you look the more you’ll find.

The default home page displays only excerpts, but you can easily change that. On the single post view, the first paragraph is bold by default. I’m assuming Robert used the

p:first-child

pseudo class to target the first paragraph. For those using Internet Explorer, you won’t get to see this technique in action.

You’re right, the single post view uses the

p:first-child

pseudo class. It does work in IE7, but not IE6.

I’ve now released a 2-column version that includes an Options page in the WP Admin, so you can configure a handful of settings (column width and arrangement, fonts, etc.) without digging inside the template files.

@grazitaly: you can easily change the colors by editing the style.css file. There’s also a 2-column version now that includes an option page. You can change the body background and font colors without editing any files.
