Gluttony Theme Preview

For Gluttony, I threw away the initial concept (which was supposed to get posted this morning) and ended up with something… less predictable. The image below is not complete yet and it’s only a preview.
If you haven’t noticed, this theme is an expandable food menu. I have a long way to go and still don’t really know how to wrap my head around this design. I tackled it without any planning. It was just an idea I had to put down. Also, I doubt that it’ll be useful for anyone because it’s so… awkward looking, but I like it.
I like it SP. It could be used for some more professional sites that don’t want that same old blog looking design.

or maybe podcasts? The left and right borders are not supposed to be there by the way. The overall width is 960px.
SP, its never happened to me before, but after looking at this mock-up, I’ve got the biggest craving for Chinese food. I didn’t know WP Themes had this power.
Maybe this could be turned into a simple ecommerce site.
I’m guessing this will be using Ajax or Javascript to have the cool effect when switching between panels?

The beauty of the wordpress community is that you’ll find thousands of people looking for all different types of solutions and I have no doubt that there’s gonna be someone who needs someting like this, even if it is as you say just for a restuarant website to add a dynamic menu to their site. Nice idea SP,something fresh & new, you should have more faith in yourself, you have great ideas.
I think I’ve seen this type of template somewhere else. But it was not free

Hey man, like others have said, keep it moving in the same direction – I like the idea. It certainly isn’t the same and I can think of many creative uses for it. I look forward to the finished product!
I can think of a few different ways to use that theme for more than just menus… how about a training module for instance, where each link opens up the next step to complete… you’ve got another winner there… keep it up!
Neat idea! I could also see this style useful for a site that wants a different approach to presenting posts without taking up a lot of space on the main page.
It would work well with great titles and you could replace the right side with the post date.

This is an interesting idea. I dont think I have seen a wp theme quite like this. I assume you’re using some AJAX features for the expandable menu which is awesome for web 2.0.
Maybe I can find a blog to use this theme with, we’ll see.

SP… if you could do / change your template so that it could be used by podcast producers to list all their shows / episodes with some social tags to share, space for image and download / subscribe links etc I would be using it for a number of projects.
