Finalized Personal Theme Design

finalized-personal-theme.png

(Since the preview, I’ve changed the green to blue because SO MANY OF YOU complained about it.)

I realize this final look doesn’t actually scream Personal, but I like it the way it is. This is the finalized version because I ran out of ideas. And usually, when you run out of ideas or don’t know what else to add, it’s time to stop or start taking away some elements to clear up the design. Otherwise, you’ll clutter it.

Also, I can’t work on it now… even if I want to. I accidentally… MERGED ALL OF THE LAYERS!!! so now the psd file is one big layer. Fortunately, I can still slice this design and then code it. But of course, it’ll be more time consuming to do it with only one layer.

Furthermore

Before coding it, I’ll be working on a new design for another new theme. What I wanted out of this design binge was to delve deeper into grunge, line art, and general illustrations because those are my weaknesses. However, I don’t have several more weeks to experiment with shapes, colors, textures, and etcetera, which are all required to hone my skills and develop a unique style that I can call my own.

Good design, should do well.

I like it a lot!!! :-D
Some unique elements. :-)

I really like the date stamp and the comments.

Love your work!

the final color is much better~ and the date stamp and the comment label are great, i like them~

I like it better in blue too! When do you plan the grand launching of your new personal blog?

Wow, i’m impressed, this is much better than your previous designs.

The only thing that i would look at is changing the colour of the number of comments… it doesn’t really look like it fits in, but that’s only my opinion

Yeah agree with the others, much better and nicer to the eye

Thanks to everyone for the compliments.

David - My personal blog isn’t a big deal :) . I’ll try to launch it this week.

Wow this is definitely better than the green one! I really love this design. I think you are improving =D

Wow, you are amazing and improving.

Nice looking theme! It’s sad to hear about the accident with the PSD, but I suppose there’s always undo and/or history functionality to revert back the changes? Have you tried that?

Unfortunately, I saved the merge.

Thats one great looking design. How the hell did you accidently merge all layers?

Ouch! merging layers is such a nightmare.

That looks a lot better! so sad that you’ve merged all layers

I love the colors!

Very cool, can’t wait for download.

Eva:

Hi SP :D

I have a question I believe many of have-so here it goes: the themes you’ve been posting about lately are all going to be premium themes i.e. we have to pay for them right?

Now that’s what I call an improvement! That colour is so much better, and the header image is awesome. Good job!

Thanks again to everyone’s comments and compliments. Again, I managed to merged all of the layers and saved it by accident. It was AN ACCIDENT :)

As for Eva’s question about having to pay for these designs, yes, they are paid themes, but you have to pay ONLY ONCE for all of them.

I’m going to launch a themes club. Once you’re in, you get to download every theme within the club and your access lasts for one year. During that year, I’d add many more themes to the club and you will NOT have to pay anything extra to download those new themes.

Hi SP,

How do you add extra content inside the feeds but doesnt show up in the posts? I am using feedburner, can I do the same thing with that?
Eager to hear from you,
Soham

You need the RSS Signature plugin. For off topic questions, please use the forums. Thanks Soham.

It is much better than the earlier one. However I am not convinced of the requirement of that header image beneath the actual blog title header. That image still makes it look as one theme embedded in other. If that big image inside the white be removed the theme will look more beautiful.

One more suggestion - Instead of keeping the content along with the 1st sidebar in the white portion see if you could move it out into the blue portion. Keeping the content separate from the navigation will add to the overall look.

Just my thoughts! Congrats on your effort put into making this theme!

SP, it’s looks just great :)

Nitinpai and Yichi - Thanks guys.
@Nitinpai - The sidebar within the white area is one of the unique elements of this theme. I’m going to keep it :)

Wow!

Congratulations for this very nice design! :)

Is there a way I can get this for blogger?

No, unless you port it for blogger.

You’re brilliant!

How’d you ‘accidentally’ merge the layers?

@unr - I was creating a preview image.

Themes is awesome..really like the lolipop and the date button..

Anakin:

So where is the Theme? Been waiting for it.

Anakin - I’m writing the post to publish it now.

I absolutely love this theme! I have a few questions, though. Is there any way to customize the colors and header to look similar to my existing website? (but in Wordpress, of course) I really need to switch to Wordpress, but I have to keep my graphics because they are on all my promotional material.

Sorry, I lost the psd file. Customizing the color is going to be a pain.
