Re-structuring Wpdesigner

- Images, texts, and links in the preview above are meant for placeholders, not actual content. I didn’t plan on a redesign, but the current one isn’t working because it has only one sidebar, which was meant for static advertisements.
- Finally, I decided to make Wpdesigner more… liquid (in terms of content arrangement) and do away with spaces reserved for advertisements.
- Almost everything I wanted done in 2007 will be completed within the next 2 months. Currently, priority number one is the themes club. I’m not finished designing all of the themes I wanted to design. Right after, I’ll code them and set up demos.
- Afterward, I’ll implement the new structure.
Cool! This looks like a great step forward for your website.

While I can’t say I like the brown, (I much prefer the current grey, but maybe it’ll grow on me when I see it in full) the use of contrast is awesome. Dark for user-created content and light for the WPDesigner content looks really good. I’m also interested to see how the bottom bar works for you. While I love them visually, I always wonder if their effectiveness is lost entirely if you have too much content above them.
I like the design, anxious to see it coded and live on the site.

@Kenneth - The bottom bars are not important. They’re meant for back up navigation.
@dinsan - the current theme i’m using for wpdesigner.com? i don’t know, not yet.

I really love this theme, can you release it for public ? or can I purchase it ?
Cool SP. Your themes always look good. Im glad that you started up a new domain for your personal blog. One thing though I always miss when I go to your website is all the advertisements that I see on other people’s website is missing on yours. It does not look enterprising enough. Maybe you should leave a few advertising buttons so that people will think you are in business in some ways and you are not doing this (completely) out of the goodness of your heart.
dinsan - sorry, i’ll think about it, but it won’t be soon.
Saint Havok - I like what I do. Even if I don’t get paid for it, I’d still do it (at a slower rate of course). However, this blog is taking up more and more of my time so I have turn it into a business. My focus is not money from sponsors and advertisers. That’s why I finally decided to have NO reserved space for ads.
Don’t you enjoy browsing this site with no ads?
I think I should keep waiting.. and waiting and waiting ………
What a great template - less like a blog more like a website - can’t wait to see it in action. Oh and I’m all for no ads - well unless they’re tailored to your content - by you and not google!
Looks good, what about adding sliding doors for certain areas?
This way the frontpage won’t be that “long” to scroll.
And those ads are almost everywhere annoying…
Are those areas collapsible (noticed the icon in the top right)? Anyway, I love it. It’s a nice extension of this theme and I love the attention to alignment.

milo- did you mean a content slideshow? what i wanted to do was turn the front page into a portal and also have custom page templates to feature each section of the front page.
ian - yup. that’s what they’re for. i’ll try to make them collapsible, but i’m not sure.
i went through the sandbox skins competition list for a skin and stopped looking when i got to yours
It would be really awesome if up at the top where the theme’s club is, if the themes would rotate like every 20 seconds.

Something like this Accordion Content script, where you can collapse/expand content headers and their content itself.
