Wpdesigner 10 Preview

Structure-wise, I went for a small home page rather than the typical lengthy 10 latest blog entries and a sidebar. My new home page is made up of four main features: full content of latest blog entry, six titles of recent blog entries, another six titles of most popular articles, and a sidebar made up of my cheesy face and category navigation.
Design-wise, it’s grid; it’s grunge; it’s glossy; it’s illustrated. This design basically represents the fact that I’m learning how to design and learning to not rely on gradients or other Web 2.0-ish looks every time I get stuck. Out of all my designs, this latest one is closest to who I am as a person. I’m messy on the outside, but I’m secretly a member of The Organization For The Organized on the inside. (Basically, I’m a bit of a neat freak.)
And now, the comments template:

A look at the comments form and policy template:

The list of stuff below the comments form are the comment policies.
The themes club landing page:

There are several more templates to this redesign, but you’ll have to wait until I launch version 10.0, which will be soon by the way.
The Point of This Post
No, it isn’t to preview version 10. It’s actually a glimpse of what sort of themes are coming to the themes club. Despite the fact that I suck at designing
, I think you’ll appreciate the level of details and personalized elements I’ll bring to the paid-themes market. For each future club theme, here’s what I’ll aim for.
I think I’m addicted to tweaking my own blog. I can’t help it. The Wpdesigner version 9.0 dust haven’t settled yet and I’m already busy hacking away at a version 10.0.
p.s. - A new theme will be released some time next week.

This looks very promising, and I have to say it, maybe you’re best yet?!
I really love that home page, there is a lot of info on there, but it doesn’t look at all cluttered, and the featured post is presented really well.
The $5 theme landing page is also very impressive, and looks more like a conventional site than just using a normal post template for it.
One point that I would pick up on is consistency, you mention glossy AND grungy, personally I would stick with one, so maybe the header should reflect the other grungy bits a bit more(but its hard to see on this picture, it might well do).
If this is a sign of things to come for the themes club, it is an excellent step forward.
Wow. I agree with Alex. This has to be your best design yet!
I like the some-what unique structure and colors too. It’s something different that you don’t see around the blogosphere too much.
I am worried about a few things though. I’m not sure if I like the logo font and I think the nav should be aligned to the left.
Keep it up bro, good work.
Yes, I know how it is. It’s so much fun making new designs for your website, and coming with a new version every two months or so, without the need for it really.
But I have also found that in my case, making a design for yourself is the hardest since I never get pleased with everything. Or I might be pleased one day, but not the next day.
Great design, by the way. I like the colors and the warm feeling. Stylish and user friendly.
it looks great..and finally we saw another photo of you
Love the themes club landing page header. Beautiful-looking design as far as I can see!
ROFL
You cannot stop updating it can you?
lol
But I like your new design a lot more than this one. This one didn’t seem fitting for you…
I dunno…
maybe it’s just me being weird…
but I like your new one a LOT.
I have to admit that it looks good. Maybe if you choose another color scheme. Something new.
Very impressive SP.
If I were you, I would not release wpdesigner 9 or 10+ as part of the free themes club or public download. The designs are just too good for anyone else to use.
Fucking beautiful.
A man after my heart in so many ways…
Keep pushing the boundaries SP. Contentment with your skills and level of ability is a curse.
Just cool work,
one thing only: the logo font doesn’t match anything else …
I’d pay for your themes club if this were included…..
ooh, i cant wait to see what next weeks theme! I hope it will match my blog content more then the one I am currently using.
Keep up the great work!
Yes, this looks very promising design-wise. Just make sure you include a link to your personal blog somewhere where people will actually see it - it’s still pretty much hidden in at the bottom of the page …
gotta love seeing progress!
You sure have been learning more in web design and the results show! It’s only natrual that you upgrade your website to reflect those changes and it’s looking beast!
great job!
Sp, it’s been a while since I’ve visited your site, usually just checking out your RSS feed, but I think you’re keeping things interesting and I like what ur doing with your site. I think it’s a step in the right direction.
You might wanna check out what I’ve done with your wrath theme on my own site, you won’t recognize it but cause i love your themes so much i couldn’t resist using one again for my re-design.
Super design and super new theme.
Also great idea to start $5 Themes Club. I have just signed up to it
I hope you will have these 500,000 subscribers very soon and me (as your new subscriber) will get a new theme every day
Suggestion: It will be also great if you will create for members in club more beauty themes like themes from RevolutionTheme or PremiumNewsTheme
And one more suggestion: It will be great if you will create themes for WPRemix too
Kind regards,
Nick
Thank you for all the positive feedback! I’m taking a break from coding this design right now. Hopefully, it will be up by today.
@Nick - I’ll see what I can do with the upcoming theme
this looks more like version copy crap from other sites 10.0 because i suck at making unique templates
The new design looks promising. I like that one more.
What is more sweet than hearing things like
Way to go !
your photoshop work is awesome <3
Thanks Nouman, but I’m an amateur.
@Ehab - Sorry dude, I’ve been hacking away at this design for hours and hours. It doesn’t seem to end. I have to finish it tomorrow.
I agree that’s the awsome design. Good work and good luck.
[…] Potato: a) provides a preview of his tenth WPDesigner theme, to give an idea of what to expect for his future club themes b) berates careless paid theme […]
I’m not a regular to your site by any means, but there is something I have to say…
The header just doesn’t seem to suit the rest of design, it seems too wide with a little tiny logo in it. I would defiantly stick to a header like you have now. where you have a sence of a long band, but also a sense of a small space.
Its up to you though..
the rest of the design looks awesome!
Oh my god! You’re a dirty Asian! I am leaving your site, now!
^^Lol
